It’s hard to believe it’s already August – the summer is really flying along. Yes, it’s August 1st and it’s also Wednesday, so we get to bring you another edition of Wacky Wednesdays!
Today’s subject comes from Wacky Packages Old School Series 3 (released earlier this year) and its parody of the 1970’s classic Pop Rocks. It’s Pop Recks!
One of the things I’ve often stated here on the site is that I love how collecting candy is always providing new discoveries. In the spirit of that, today’s article is about a pair of recent surprises related to one of my favorite brands — Razzles.
I love tracking down the oddball candy wrapper you can’t see anywhere else and sharing it here on the site.
With that in mind, today is a good day, bcause today I get to share a wrapper for a treat put out in the 1990’s by Cadbury’s Canadian branch — Sour Beaner. Described as “Sour Jellybeans in Marshmallowy Nougat Covered in a Chocolatey Coating” – it’s pretty weird and pretty awesome. It’s definitely something to behold.

It was an overcast, occasionally-rainy Saturday in New York City this weekend. You might say it was very London-like. Due to this, my girlfriend and I decided to stay in, check out the Olympics for a while, watch a bad sci-fi movie, and catch up on some apartment-cleaning. But things don’t always work out as planned, and sometimes that’s okay.

The 2012 London Summer Olympics officially kicked-off today after a wonderful opening ceremonies yesterday. I had a great time watching the ceremonies on television, and realized it was the perfect time to devote a post here to these Olympics.
The title image for today’s post is my favorite of those I’ll be covering – it’s Cadbury’s Olympic mascot bar, featuring Wenlock and Mandeville. The chocolate itself is shaped like the two strange-yet-appealing characters.
You might be surprised to learn that the Pink Panther has adorned a number of candy packages over the years. As a licensed character, the Pink Panther is no Mickey Mouse, and yet he manages to get around. So let me get to sharing the candy packages I’ve tracked down that sport this cool cat.
