Cadbury’s Bat Eggs and Screme Eggs Goopocalypse!

Egg-shaped candy is normally the purview of Easter, but confectionery creativity has brought eggs into Halloween, too.   Today I’d like to cover two of Cadbury’s Halloween egg offerings; their Bat Eggs from the late 1980’s and their newly-released Screme Eggs, too.

First up, let’s go all the way back to the 1980’s and Cadbury Canada’s Bat Eggs.   These appear to have been a Halloween version of Cadbury’s Mini-Eggs.   This package is another CollectingCandy.com world premiere and exclusive.  That means you won’t find images of this package anywhere else online — check it out:

So the concept of bringing the egg into Halloween and giving it a spooky style has been going on for some time.

Last year in the UK and this year in the US and Canada, Cadbury took their timeless Creme Egg product and gave it a Halloween makeover, rebranding them as Screme Eggs.   I picked up a couple of them last month, and here’s the wrapper they featured:

When I picked up my Screme Egg, I assumed I’d had what I needed, but a quick Google search revealed that Cadbury Canada’s Screme Eggs had a trio of wrapper variants we weren’t going to get here in the US.

Look closely at that image and you’ll see three different wrappers that I’m calling;  the mummy, egg brains, and goo-monster teeth.

Not only is Cadbury Canada getting cool wrappers but they’ve created commercial spots and a Facebook campaign called “Goopocalypse”.  It’s a take on the Zombie Apocalypse.

So, I can put these cool Canadian Screme Egg foil wrappers onto my want list.

And that’s everything I’ve got to share today on these two cool Cadbury Halloween candy egg products.  See you next time!

One more thing before I go – here are the YouTube spots for Cadbury’s Goopocalypse – they’re worth checking out:

I’ve been having trouble with your new “load more pages” button. For instance, today I started on the October page from the menu on the right, which showed the posts from October 31-23. Then I hit the button to get back to earlier ones, but instead I got posts starting with November 2 and going back fro there. After that, it seemed to be fine, and I finally got to the posts from the beginning of October.
