A Freaky One for Friday: Fleer’s Monster Mix Bubble Gum!

Today is especially fun as I get to share one of my all-time favorite Halloween-related candy pieces.  It’s also another CollectingCandy.com exclusive premiere as you won’t find an image or mention of today’s candy piece anywhere else on the internet.  Today I get to unveil Fleer’s Monster Mix Bubble Gum!

Released by Fleer in the mid-1970’s, Monster Mix was a spooky-themed version of their popular line of Quicksand-branded powdered bubble gum.  Monster Mix sports a wonderfully illustrated wrapper with scary monster-mascot, striking colors, and a cool melted candle logo.   Once again, this is a CollectingCandy.com exclusive – you won’t find an image of this anywhere else online – here it is:

Fleer – Monster Mix pouring bubble gum – candy gum package – 1970’s

This is a such a singularly cool piece of confectionery packaging, I’m thrilled to finally share it here on the site.

The artwork and colors on this not only evoke the great monster illustrations of the 1960’s and 1970’s, but also some of the groovy concert posters of the last twenty years.

In my opinion this is more than just a piece of old candy packaging – it’s a piece of pop art.

And that’s everything I’ve got to share on this one for today.  See you next time!

That Monster Mix pack is mind-blowing — I love it! I really dig Fleer’s gum products from the 70’s & 80’s. Your collection totally rocks, J!
