Thanks for the article. The thought of a Munch bar makes me salivate like a rabid dawg! It my favorite bar and I buy by the boxes. The Munch bar kicks so much a$$, that colons must be imported from other countries just to meet the demand! Its true! Love the Munch. Sorry if I got carried away.

Geez–I remember this gum! I thought I was going crazy because no one I’ve ever talked with had ever heard of it or seen it. But I remember it in stores in the 1960s (I think.) It was a thick disk made up of different colors of gum all pressed together. If only someone could unearth a clear photo of the gum itself! It was sooo cool. Thanks for the memories.

I had some of.these when I was kid! They weren’t around long though, i only had them once. They had A LOT of dye in them. I remember spitting colors on the sidewalk lol. Fun times.

Yikes…I have to say I find the new box pretty disjointed looking, particularly with the separated box sections that don’t seem to serve any purpose.
I hope the ‘for the love of’ is a temporary addition for the stop bullying campaign…while it is a good marketing tactic for their organization it would be a somewhat cheesy addition to the classic candy that (in mind anyway) has always embraced celebrated the nerd!

I wonder why squeeze gum disappeared off the face of the planet? The world once again needs Amurol confections to fill the innovation-less 2010′s!

I remember all of these products. I actually bought a couple tubes of “Bubble Dude”, a slightly earlier squeeze gum released by them around 1994-95, they had troll hair on the cap. Amazingly it is still completely edible and has that awesome fruity flavor I remember! I love it! Got one tube left that I’ll stretch out for the next 50 years or so . I’ve also purchased a box of TOPPS Batman Returns squeeze gum. Sadly the gum inside went horribly bad! A waxy powdery plastic-ey dangerous substance came out of those containers…

So to anyone looking for this stuff to try, go with Amurol. Almost 20 years later and their product is still chewable! I LOVE YOU AMUROL!!!

I found this site because I did an online search for Choco Lite. I loved that candy bar. It’s one of those ones I’ll ask about and no ones heard of it. I thought, “I wonder if this guy ever heard of Oompas”. You have. I remember the 74 package. They were in my top ten as candy, then they disappeared. I don’t remember them after 74. When Reese’s Pieces came out, I thought this is almost the exact same thing as a Oompa. I wonder if Hershey’s bought the rights for design.
